Description: This Tylosaurus Dorsal Thoracic Vertebrae was excavated by us using a cast. The front (posterior convex end) is in wonderful condition...just beautiful! Unfortunately, there was some post fossilization crushing over time due to weight of overburden. The neural arch was cracked but I glued it back in place with CA glue. The anterior (convex end) had some deep voids that I prepped by layering paleo epoxy and putty, then dry brushing to color match. The entire specimen has been stabilized with a light coat of Paraloid B72. Paraloid and Butvar are used to preserve real fossils on display at museums and in labs where Paleontologists study specimens. 6" wide and centrum is 4" deep front to back! See the photos as this is the exact item that you will receive. Perfect gift for an aspiring Paleontologist or Cretaceous Period Fossil Collector These are from the Cretaceous Period - The Cretaceous is defined as the period between 145.5 and 65.5 million years ago,* the last period of the Mesozoic Era, following the Jurassic North Texas Delta County Ozan Formation/Marlbrook Cretaceous Period age
