Description: You are looking at a GM T10 4 speed transmission from a 62 Pontiac Catalina. Correct replacement for 1961 to 62 Full size Pontiac with T10. Will also bolt into 1957-63 Chevy Corvette and Impala. This is a 1 ring input which is wide ratio (1st gear has a ratio of 2.54, 2nd 1.89, 3rd 1.51, 4th 1.00). Has a 10 spline input and 16 spline output. The main case is iron, cast # T10-1B and dated H181. It is stamped WJ 1412. The side cover is 19-8-8. The tail shaft cover is cast # T10-7B and dated 7-21-61. There is no wear on any of the gears, slider or synchronizers and it looks clean inside. Shift forks look good. Only ware I found was on the front bearing retainer where the throw out bearing slides (pictured). This car was parked 40 years ago with 114k on the odometer. It will need new gaskets and seals. Probably wouldn’t hurt to replace the front input bearing. Very hard to find early Pontiac 4 speed transmission. Other rare 4 speed parts from this car are being listed in separate listing.
