On most of my knives, the head did not interfere with the closing of the corkscrew. On one knife, however, I had to push the corkscrew past the pin head as there was a tiny bit of friction. Again, the majority of my Swiss army Knives had plenty of clearance between the head and the corkscrew. They are made from nickel plated steel. 1-1/4" long There are tons of uses for these pins. Remove a splinter! Eject a sim card. Make a bushcraft compass. That's just to name a few. The possibilities are endless!
