I’ve been hatching my eggs throughout the summer and having fun doing it silkies are such a fun breed to raise. My hatch rate has been 98%. Our chickens are loved and extremely friendly. All my eggs will be fresh and fertile upon shipping. Before packing the eggs for shipment, I use a light to check for any defects in the eggs, such as cracks or damage to the yolk. Each egg will be wrapped in bubble wrap and put into a egg carton. Then the eggs are put into an envelope wrapped in bubble wrap then I put them into a box and surround the wrapped eggs with papers so that they are protected during shipment. I rarely have any broken eggs. If your eggs should break, I asked that you take a picture and send it to me so that I can reach out to USPS for help if needed. Also, if you can take a picture of the box if it looks damaged before you ever open, the eggs would be great. I’ve been mailing eggs for almost 3 years and I can count on one hand the times I’ve had broken eggs or issues with the boxes being damaged. It doesn’t happen very often thankfully. I do try to mail extra eggs just in case something happens. I want everyone to have a successful hatch and get to raise these chickens and love them as much as I do.
