Staiger has been one of the oldest German companies in the bicycle industry. After 21 year old Paul Staiger became cycling champion of the kingdom of Württemberg in 1897, he decided to open a shop for bicycles. One year later he was able to start his business in Stuttgart. Soon enough, Staiger bikes were renowned for their solidity and reliability. This Staiger Classic Bike from the 1970s is no exception. The parts are a mix of quality components, which was rather typical for German bicycle companies who wanted to build bikes for the bigger market of amateur sportsmen but without sacrificing the reliability of their machines. All in all this bike is a great vintage ride with some car racing history.
