DeanHistory of the real car: Ford Motor Company produced 96 1970 Mach 1 Twister Specials for their 'Total Performance Day' held Friday November 7, 1969 in Kansas City, MO. These cars were originally produced for American Raceways Inc (ARI) but they went bankrupt and the cars were never delivered. Ford contacted a detailing firm to remove the ARI logos and replace them with the Mach 1 Twister Special logo. This was the first and only time Ford included the Ford logo on the front quarter panel.
