Description: Here are 8 vintage hotel matchbooks. All of them are pre-1973 which was when the federal government mandated that the strikers had to be on the rear cover. The first is for the Hotel Fresno which closed in 1983. I have no other date but it was opened in the early 1900's. The second one is the Continental Hotel in Kansas City. There are no matches left in that matchbook. The restaurants listed on the cover were open in the 1940's. Next we have the Fairmont Hotel in New York which is dated 1946. Next is the Northern Hotel in Fort Collins which was built by the Great Northern RR Company. It was very famous during prohibition. Next is the Hiway Inn in Wichita. I have no info on this one. Next is the Allis Hotel in Wichita which was built in 1929 and abandoned in 1984. Next is the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco which is now the Westin St. Francis. It was built in the early 1900's. Dan London is listed as the manager, and he was there from 1938-1970. The final matchbook is advertising Beek-Cross Hotels which were in the most prevalent in the 1940's. Free shipping in U.S.
