Although the home that it came from was about 120 years old, this was found in the addition that was added to the home sometime during the middle of the previous century.We also salvaged the brackets, bolts, and screws that secured the handrail in place and they are included with your purchase.It has a thicker, square, end post and thinner straight and twisted spindles. There is a lovely, S-shaped design in the middle consisting of several, thin, curved or curled pieces of wrought steel. Unlike modern, hollow handrails, you could feel the strength and weight of this piece as soon as you grab it. If you're going to lean or put your weight on the handrail, you not only want it to have the capacity to do so, but you also want it to give you a sense that you could trust it. This handrail is definitely the type to give you that peace of mind. The handrail is completely, straight, intact, and in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks, dents, gouges, or rot. Since the rail was installed in the home and the home was dry (not flooded), there is no rust or corrosion of any kind.
