Description: One of premier toy soldier maker's "A Call to Arms" favorite and most sought after figure sets is their figures from the Zulu Nation that went up against the might of the British Army in 1879 in the southern part of the African Continent. These native warriors were made famous, forever, by the incredible military movie "Zulu", about the Battle of Rorke's Drift, starring Michael Kaine, back in the 1960's. A short time later in the early 1970's the movie "Zulu Dawn" was released about the Battle of Isandlawana (complete destruction of one wing of the British Army) with Peter O'Toole and Burt Lancaster starring, showing what happened the day before Rorke's Drift. These "A Call to Arms" figures of Zulu Warriors are extremely hard to find due to the many books on the Zulu Wars and two outstanding movies that have made these warriors and soldiers world-famous. For the British people today, Isandlwana remains their "Alamo". Further, these sets sold out extremely quickly in the UK and South Africa too; not just in America. I'm selling this large set of 32 Isandlwana Zulu warriors in one Ebay listing and then in another Ebay listing I'm selling 16 more Zulu Warriors from the Battle of Ulundi, so check them out. These warriors, in both listings, come with shields that are NOT glued on their hands. One hand on each warrior has a prong sticking out of the top where the glue should be placed, then the shield is put in place in any angle you chose for overnight hardening. I would recommend using a towel under the figure pushing up on the corners of the shield to keep it from moving overnight.. For those warriors that are identical, just change the angle of the glued shield to make the warrior look slightly different. You can also put the warrior (before gluing the shield on) in extremely near boiling water for a few seconds and then take out, bending both arms to any angle you wish, then put the figure immediately in cold water to "set" the arm(s) in position, following by gluing the shield on at whatever angle suits you. This Isandlwana set is a medium somewhat shiny brown plastic, whereas the Ulundi set of 16 I'm selling in another listing is a darker, shinier brown plastic.
