Some were newly discovered, and others were rejected from the earlier works but included here under a more liberal editorial policy allowing for inclusion of state and county histories describing the Mormon presence as well as some 600 relevant US government documents. Indexing is by title and chronology, and, in addition, by non English- language (24 in all)—for researchers who want to examine the growth of the Church in various countries.
