Description: This doll was found in my family’s home. Family has been here for over 100 years. I started to restore the doll and spent a great feat of time removing the old paint and debris however I have found that I am not able to finish it as I don’t want to ruin it. I want to pass it along to someone who can do it justice. The first composition dolls were made in the 19th century, and they were the most popular doll material in the 1900s until plastic became more common in the 1950s. The heyday of composition dolls was in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. o Composition dolls were made from a combination of materials, including sawdust, glue, cornstarch, resin, and wood flour. They were marketed as "unbreakable dolls". Take a look and see if you have any interest in finishing the project.
