Description: THIS IS A STUNNING AND VERY RARE ANTIQUE WW1 1915-1916 GENTS BRITISH MILITARY ROLEX "FULL HUNTER" TRENCH WRISTWATCH IN SOLID SILVER. DESCRIPTION. This is a beautiful and rare WW1 Military trench (Full Hunter) Rolex wristwatch. This model of Rolex was made in extreamly low numbers. It has the unusual Rolex markings on the outer case back ( Modelle Depose Rolex) plus Rolex on the front outer hunter flip top rim and Rolex on its silver winding crown protector what fits onto its original military leather strap. This model of Rolex could have been sold to British military personnel during World War One. The condition of this Rolex for being over 100 years old is very good with normal age related wear and marks to the case but considering it could have been worn in the trenches its in very good condition. The stunning original white enamel dial and Cathedral hands ooze that military style and charm. The rare part to this watch is the hunter cover what protects the dial. It has its flip top silver protector what you can lift up to see the time and when released flips back into place. It was designed as many normal trench watches were easily smashed when used in the trenches. The wonderful Rolex 15 jewels movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker in the past 3 months. Please note: watches of this age even when serviced may gain or lose up to 60-90 seconds in 24 hours what is acceptable for a 100 year old watch. To complete this fantastic piece, we've put it on a new good quality leather strap. CASE. The solid silver flip up front and back case are in good condition for their age with normal age related wear and marks. The full size gents case measures a large 35mm across without the winding crown. Inside the case back all the marks are correct as expected: Rolex, R.W.C ltd, 4 World Records, Gold-Medal, Geneva-Swiss and fully hallmarked for silver. DIAL. The original white military style enamel dial and cathedral hand are stunning. The dial is signed: Rolex. MOVEMENT. The high grade 15 Jewels movement is in very good condition and has been fully serviced. The movement is signed: Rolex, Swiss Made, 15 Jewels.
