Description: AB Systems equipment is very rare and was not built for home or commercial use. The history behind original AB Systems was short but prolific. It was started in the mid 1970's by Bob Bird who left ESS after designing the ESS 500 amplifier with manufacturing performed in California close to the ESS facility. AB systems designed professional amplifiers for Paramount, Pixar, Skywalker Sound, Disney, Imax, and many others. Bird died in 1999 and the company was sold and became AB International. This amplifier has headroom to spare it is extremely overengineered. It has a giant power transformer oversized capacitors and four RCA 1B04 output transistors per side NOT MOUNTED ON THE HEAT SINK but on two separate boards recessed in a thick aluminum bar. The 205B is a two channel power amplifier I don't have the specs but it bench tests out to over 140 WPC. The internal build quality is outstanding.
