Ambler Asbestos was a subsidiary of Keasbey & Mattison Co., which operated in Amber Pennsylvania from 1881 until the company was sold in 1934. Ambler Asbestos Products produced "Everything in Asbestos," including, Yarn, Cloth, Tapes, Gaskets, Brake Linings, Washers, Gloves and Mittens, Iron Holders, Wall Boards, Sheet Packings, Theatre Curtains and Clothing. Ambler Pennsylvania was considered the "Asbestos Capital of the World." Large piles of asbestos contaminants were created over time, ultimately resulting on perhaps the largest piles of Asbestos contaminants in the United States. By 2011, studies concluded that the levels of asbestos-related cancers were three time higher in the Ambler area than anywhere else in the US and the dump sites were fenced and clean-up was ordered. This card advertises Ambler Asbestos Shingles on the front and a brief description of the company and its product lines appears on the reverse. It is undated, circa 1920.
