Description: Listing several photogravures of Giovanni Battista Piranesi. 1720-1778. This plate is C 39, double folio. 19 by 25 inches. Piranesi was the leading architectural art of the 18th Century. Original Plates very often sell for $ 1000, or more. These were produced by J. Lowy and published in 1887 by A.D. Lehmann in Wien( Vienna) and are so marked. I acquired a group of the plates, most still have the original tab where they were connected to the original binding. They are in excellent condition having been properly store for many years. most have the original tissue preserving the print. The paper has age toning which would be expected relating to their age. All prints will ship flat.
