Description: This Martin Baltimore kit depicts a Mk. II series bomber because of its twin dorsal turret guns. (The Mk. I series had only one dorsal turret gun, and Mk. III, Mk. IV, and Mk. V series Baltimores had dorsal fixed gun installations in place of the turret.) The kit is complete with all parts, instructions, decal sheet and Air Lines/Testor's Aircraft Painting Guide and Instruction Booklet. The back of box has two cutout trading cards of other kits in series. I also have a FROG Martin Baltimore kit; however, the gray plastic kit is missing decals, pilot and gunner, base of plastic stand, and the two propellers are warped. The AIR LINES kit box is also about 1" longer and 1" wider than the FROG kit box, the instruction sheet is much better and larger, and the FROG kit doesn't have a separate Aircraft Painting Guide that the AIR LINES kit has. The attached photos show all sides of the box, showing it to be in excellent condition, as are the instruction sheet and Aircraft Painting Guide and Instruction Booklet. The booklet has been spread out to show you a painting guide for not only the Martin Baltimore, but eight other French and RAF AIR LINES airplanes. I compared and fitted parts together between these two kits. Note the gray and blue fuselage halves in one photo. First, I found that the two blue fuselage halves don't fit well together - AT ALL. I also found that the gray fuselage halves lacked the hinge needed at the top of the tail that connects to the rudder. I did, however, find that one gray and one blue fuselage half fit and snap so well together that they align perfectly and can stand fitted without support. Photos show views, both top and bottom of the fitted fuselage, sitting on top of a wing. Another photo shows that this fuselage then has the necessary top hinge to connect to the rudder. The last photo just shows the extra gray fuselage half, which also lacks the hinge on top of the tail, showing how it would look if you used all gray pieces and then tried to connect the fuselage to the rudder. In summary, this is a kit that you can depend on for accuracy, fit and completeness. As shown, almost all parts are still on their original sprues.
