I tied and sold thousands of flies while I was there and Dry Flies, that floated well, were always popular and in demand. So one day, I got the idea of making a Dry Fly with hollow deerhair wrapped around the body - almost like wrapping a piece of yarn around a hook. Don't know how I thought of that, but it worked out really well. And just to add some durability to the "Wrapped Deer Hair" body, I ribbed the body with a piece of fly-tying thread. That helps the body stay intact (after being chewed on a bit) plus it just makes the fly look better and more "Buggy". So all-in-all, the High Rider is a really Practical and Good Looking Fly!
