Alexander Dzigurski II has received national recognition and success for his powerful seascapes and landscapes. His paintings, with their rich palette of color, attract art collectors from all over the country. Born in 1968 in Atherton, California, Alexander developed a love of art at a very young age. Traveling with his parents throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, he began to draw and paint intensively. After high school he enrolled at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. There he received training in the studies of anatomy, life drawing, composition, and technique. Under the direction of artist Ted Smuskiewicz, Alexander studied oil painting and pastel. After his graduation, Mr. Dzigurski continued his artistic education under the professional guidance of his late father. Painting from life, Mr. Dzigurski has forged a successful career in the world of fine art. Finding much inspiration painting in the field (en plein air), the artist travels to many different locations. Subjects for Mr. Dzigurski's paintings include the Big Sur coastline, Monterey Peninsula, the Sierra Nevadas, Grand Tetons, Canadian Rockies, Yosemite, the Mendocino coast and pastoral California landscapes. A 1990 graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago, IL. Alex then studied under his father for five years painting from life and working in the studio directly. He learned the Dzigurski palette, brushwork, and technique. From his plein air experience and studies, the artist has travelled extensively, garnering him artistic knowledge and inspiration through experience. Alex has painted compositions of landscapes/seascapes along the coastline of California, New England, Oregon, the Sierra-Nevada Mountains, Rocky Mountains, the Alps, France, Italy, Napa, Sonoma, Yosemite, and Hawaii. A professional artist for thirty years, he has participated in numerous national exhibitions and represented by many galleries. In 1999, Mr. Dzigurski received Artist Signature Status from Oil Painters of America Organization (O.P.A.) as a professional distinction from his fellow contemporary artists.Using an All Prima approach, he enjoys working with a variety of canvases from miniatures to large sizes.
