This Jardin Mysteré Scarab beetle brooch pin was made by Alexis Bittar. The lucite is clear, with labradorite, quartz and crystal accents. Like many of Bittar’s clear lucite pieces, it is unsigned. It measures about 3 inches long. As with virtually all of Alexis Bittar's handmade lucite jewelry, there may be occasional tiny marks at various places on the lucite. There may also be minor pitting and/or other irregularities on the finish as well as minute scratches on the metal hardware. As per Alexis Bittar, these occur naturally during the manufacturing process and as such are not considered defects. Of note, there are some issues: First, there is plating loss on the metal surfaces, which are primarily on the sides of the mandible area, on the wings, and also on the stick pin. I was able to somewhat cover these areas with a gold mirror marker, but they are still present if you look closely. Also, one of the stones is different than the one on the other side. Where the right side has mossy quartz, the left side instead has a flat yellow stone. No other issues or defects noted. The pin apparatus functions correctly, and there are no missing stones or crystals. Terms: Please do not ask for or expect a partial refund.
