Description: Souvenir from Granada, Spain. The box is is meant to resemble the architecture style of the Alhambra Fortress Palace. Musical movement is made by Reuge in Switzerland. When the hinged cover is lifted it plays Jose Padilla's El Relicario. Hand Made Laguna Taracea inlaid wood marquetry that this area is famous for. Measures about 7 inches across and 4 1/2 inches tall. Probably dates from the 1970s or 1980s. It has a secret. In the base there is a small hole. Insert the key and turn clockwise. A small screw raises and locks the cover closed. Used condition. One piece of inlaid wood has chipped off around the base. There is a crack in the lacquer and a bubble on the lid. The white columns could use some delicate cleaning. See photos.
