I have no doubt that it is similar to its US counterpart, however, I do not believe this to be United States military issue. This Allied Military Parachute Harness and Packed Parachute is a vintage item from the 60s or 70s. It was used on fixed wing and rotary aircraft by the USAF and other branches. The harness has an adjustable size that fits most people, and it comes in a green, sage/foliage color. The nomenclature of this item is "Harness, Personnel Parachute, Back," and it was used on cargo, troop transport, fighters, bombers, and utility aircraft.
