Description: This incredibly well preserved musical instrument made in 1840 by Nicolas Darche and labelled "Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1726" is a true gem. After his training in Mirecourt, Nicolas went to Brussels, working with N.F. Vuillaume, like several other members of the Darche family. He established his own shop in Aix-La-Chapelle around 1840 and this excellent vintage violin was crafted in France at the peak of his career. It features a beautiful combination of high quality maple and spruce for the body material, which produces an excellent tone with lots of color that is silky, balanced, full, rich, dark, powerful but not too bright, and is very playable. This violin is perfect for top notch professionals. This beautiful, masterfully made 1726 Stradivarius model is as close as you'll get to a real Strad without breaking the bank. It has an impressive aesthetic and sound that adds to its uniqueness, is perfect for any performance and is sure to impress fellow musicians. High quality craftsmanship and a COA from Daniel Bruckner, guarantees provenance and makes this a must-have for any performer or collector. You know this great violin will truly satisfy for many generations to come. I acquired the Darche in August of 2002 and recently spent $1400 to have the neck angle adjusted, which included a new bridge. After evaluating the work professionally completed at Ifshin Violins in the San Francisco Bay Area, I feel it noticeably improved the playability, balance and sound quality of this very fine musical instrument. Although I've loved this violin for the last 22 years, it's time for you to fall in love and enjoy this exquisite example of one of the finest violins ever made. FYI, I am a professional who studied violin with Jaime Laredo on full scholarship, chamber music with Michael Tree and have performed under great conductors like Leonard Bernstein, Gunther Schuller, Leonard Slatkin, etc. I have personally had the distinct pleasure of playing on a few Strads and Guanarius' valued over $2,000,000, so I know this is a super special violin. From my experience, this is the closest you'll get to a genuine Strad at an unbelievable price point. Bid now for $55k and win this awesome violin from me or buy-it-now today for a very fair $75k...thank you for looking! I know you've been waiting for this, so FINALLY I took a deep breath, let go of my ego, and made a recording of this amazing violin to share with you. Please forgive my sloppy playing, but do notice the tonal colors I was working to produce. I used Bach and Sibelius (with a wrong note in each...lol) to show that she responds incredibly well to a wide range of compositions. *She says you can listen to me here: https://youtu.be/MJfMQoybrEo
