However he continued his service in the Wisconsin National Guard and when the Spanish-American War began in 1898 he was appointed Brigadier General of volunteers and continued in service until his death in 1932. Enhanced by 8 full-page illustration by Frederic Remington (2) and Edwin Willard Deming (6). Hardcover book in Good condition, tight and clean with no marks. Pages are clean and white with some darkening near edges. Red cloth covers with white titles on the spine and front and an illustration on the front are rubbed, but clean; book is solid and hinges are undamaged; minor wear at spine ends and corners.
