He holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D in Mathematics and an M.A. in International Relations, and is currently Dean of the College of Science at the University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran. He has written and lectured extensively on the history of science and mathematics. He has published about 70 articles in local and international journals, and is the author of five books: Muslim Contribution to Mathematics (English), Great Arab and Muslim Mathematicians (Arabic), Brief Exposition of Arabic and Muslim Scientific Heritage (Arabic), Modern Mathematics and the Intellect (Arabic), History of Sciences, Modern Mathematics for Secondary Schools (Arabic, co-author). He is also the President of the Union of Arab Physicists and Mathematicians, and a member of the editorial board of many International Journals in history of sciences and mathematics.
