Description: This ancient Jurassic ammonite fossil is a rare and unique addition to any rock, fossil or mineral collection. The natural ammolite split fossil halves have been preserved for over 66 million years, when they went extinc, so this fossil is at least that old and most probably older. It offers an interesting glimpse into the earth's prehistoric history. This highly detailed fossil was found at an estate sale on the Eastern coast of North Carolina. Where it's original home was is unknown, but these are highly sought after by collectors. I see no damage. The inside halves have been polished and that enhances the cavities and lines. Each half measures approximately 2 5/8" in length and approximately 2 1/8" in width. Returns are accepted only if I have not accurately described the item. Pictures are a part of the description.
