Ancient Roman Terracotta Pottery from the Holy Land

Description: The vessel is about 3" high and was previously in an east coast collection. It dates to the first or second century, A.D. Israel was under the control of the Roman Empire beginning in 63 BC (annexation of Israel by Pompey). The Empire's presence in Judea would continue for centuries, despite Jewish rebellions (See the Great Revolt of 66 A.D.). Please note that we do not import or export ancient items. Additionally, our items typically come from people and businesses that we know and trust. We tend to avoid buying from unknown sources or individuals because we cannot guarantee that they have obtained their inventory through legitimate and ethical means. Our listings are researched prior to posting and our descriptions are informed by our own knowledge and experience as well as by the vendors from which we obtain our inventory. Thus, our titles and descriptions are our opinions as to the nature and history of the object for sale. These expressed opinions should not be treated as a statement of fact. Buyers should seek further information where inclined. We welcome discussions about concerns or questions PRIOR to purchase.
