Antique 1800s Lions & Lion Head Glass Compote w Lid by Gillinder & Sons

Description: Antique 1800s Lions & Lion Head Glass Compote with Lid. Just too pretty as it features the full lion on the top while the stem has three different faces of lions. Frosted lion on the top and frosted lion faces on the stem. Has the lid that nicely sits on the top. It was made sometime in the 1800s, 1876-1877. It was made by Gillinder & Sons. Quite rare as quite a few of them that were made are no longer available in this size or have some damage such as major chips or the lid missing. Quite a few are around in the smaller versions. It is large as it measures about 12 1/2" Tall by 8" across the top. As stated, the lion on the top is frosted glass, the stem is frosted and the bottom is also frosted. I did note an ever so tiny, tiny chip on the lion on the top but it is so small that one can barely see it and I could not get a photo of it. I also noted a few scratches on the lid. Still a gorgeous piece to add to your home or collection. Most of my items are vintage in nature and I have had for years. I describe my items the best I can based on my ability.
