Description: Antique Swaims/Panacea/Philada Olive Green Cylindrical Medicine Bottle Estimated time period 1830-1860 (mid 19th century) This bottle is an estate sale find from a unique historical bottle collector. This bottle is very unique in that it has a total of 9 indented vertical panels. Three are wide and each wide panel is embossed (Swaims/Panacea/Philada). The other 6 panels are simple vertical panels. I tried my best researching this bottle. I am not an expert. This bottle appears to be hand blown…even more the lip finish has a dip (downward curve) on it (as shown in pictures). The finish (rim) is smooth like the rest of the lip. After researching, this bottle could have possibly been mouth blown. There is excess glass that dripped over the lip onto the neck (you can see it in my pictures). Also, the lip looks slightly crooked resting on the neck of the bottle. The dip (downward curve) on the finish (lip) possibly created the rippled line inside the lip (you can see it in my pictures). Truly appears to be mouth blown or hand blown glass. There are also bubbles in the glass. The base is concave. There is no pontil scar on the base. Some minor marks. I did not attempt to clean the bottle. It’s in very good condition. I’m fascinated with this antique medicine bottle, and I know there’s a true collector out there who would love and appreciate this bottle. Please see all pictures for condition! Please feel free to ask questions! Thank you!
