Description: This antique pharmacy ledger is full of prescriptions from many different doctors. The prescriptions are dated 1887 to 1888 and line the front and back of 72 sheets (if front and back counted individually = 144 pages). This ledger was from the Fogg Pharmacy in Skowhegan Maine. It does show pages ripped out, I think from the drug store so they could fit all the scripts without increasing the book thickness. The sheets are very sturdy and thick from the glue and layers of paper. What I found so unique about this ledger is it's a reused hotel guest ledger from 1885. The Ledger was made for the Heselton House, which was a hotel in Skowhegan that was destroyed by a fire in 1905. Some of the guest signatures and writing peek out from around the glued down prescriptions. The spine is missing but binding is intact, there are no loose pages. Great marbled end papers in front and back. Plus the American hotel guide is still untouched at the front of the book including a blue page of ads.
