Description: For your consideration is an amazing and extremely detailed antique 19th century carved wood sculpture of the Buddhist deity, Chakrasamvara, embracing his consort, the goddess, Vajravarahi. This is a work of art that would have most likely been used in tantric rituals and meditation practices as well. I had this piece appraised by Mearto, a reputable appraisal company for antiques and fine art, and I have provided screenshots of the report in the listing (see last two photos in the photos section), mainly so you can see the specialist's opinion. I did need to white out some information on the report for privacy reasons and in order to comply with eBay policies, however, I can share additional details with the buyer when that time comes. This sculpture remains in very good condition considering its age and the fact that it is made of wood vs. metal, indicative of it being well cared for. It appears to have possibly been mounted or sitting in something else early on (perhaps a wall niche) based on the differences in color around the base. No signatures or markings are present, but my best guess would be that this sculpture originated in Tibet or India. Measurements are: 9 1/2" wide x 3" deep x 17 1/2" tall. Weight is approximately 5 lbs. 6 1/2 oz. Be sure to view all photos as they are considered part of the description and feel free to ask any questions. Additional photos can be taken upon request. Please pay within 24 hours. *** Considering the nature and value of this item, it will be fully insured and shipped via secure, registered mail with a signature requirement upon delivery.
