Description: For sale is a figurine of a gentleman playing with his dog made by Niderviller around 1800. He is dressed nicely and holding a hat that the dog is sniffing while standing on his hind legs. The figurine is nicely modeled and hand painted with nice detail. There is the typical rock work as well as the gold trim on the base. The figure displays nicely but the dog had been broken off and has been put back in place and it is hard to spot. The bottom right leg has a restoration through it while the left one is right at the paw and it's hard to spot. The left front leg is hidden so you can see the break easily and the right front leg was just off the hat cleanly and looks perfect. Small chip to the hat brim underside as shown. But like I said the piece displays really well! As is the case with most of their figurines she is unmarked.
