Description: This amazing antique 1907 "Railway Commissioner's map of Washington" shows all the railways and railway spurs in the entire state in 1907. Being a 75 year native of Washington and a third generation Washingtonian (my Grandmother arrived here in 1890 and my Great Grandfather was the Section Foreman for the Northern Pacific Railroad in Wallula, WA) I see railway lines that have been gone since long before I was born in 1947. There is the line to what is now the ghost town of Monte Cristo. There are lines to Rockport and Darrington that no longer exist. Even the old line that was along the Burke-Gilman trail is listed. In fact, there are literally dozens on now defunct lines on this great old map. The reverse of the map lists all the towns and counties listed on the map. I bought the map at the old Bushell's Auction house something like 40 years ago. The map is in fair condition. Ever since I've owned it, it has had some repaired tears along the top edge (see photos). I have added acid free archival tape to reinforce these areas and I think it would stand up to being wall mounted but it might be best if it were professionally conserved at some point. It is 48" x 34.5". Stock number SA2C-198
