Some plates are tissue covered. There is a short strip of paper at gutter between page XIV a d XV at front of book, but I have carefully checked all illustrations and all are present. I also counted front pages numbered with Roman numerals, and all are present (It was a little confusing because the bank reverse of pages was another page, though the number was not printed on it. ) All pages, all illustrations present, the paper strip is a binding artifact from publisher. Outer edges rough cut.DIMENSIONS: approx 9" x 6" x 304 pagesCONDITION: antique hardback book, red cloth covers with gilt lettering on front; faded gilt decoration on faded spine. Gift inscription from original giver to recipient dated 1908, see listing photo, otherwise interior clean and unmarked by former owner. This is a very old book, and despite minor cover flaws, it remains in good condition. No dust jacket (possibly as published?) A scarce title for your royalty bio personal library. CONTENTS: Élisabeth Philippe Marie Hélène of France (3 May 1764 – 10 May 1794), a sister of King Louis XVI. She was executed during the Reign of Terror at the Place de la Révolution.
