Antique 1918 Jemco Velvet Lined Leather Purse *Handle Broken Make Great Clutch

Description: Note: Handle is broken. I picked this up some time ago and planned to use it as a clutch. But let's face it, I never go anywhere anymore that a clutch is appropriate. Hand tooled Jemco purse in brown leather with a green velvet interior. Patented locking Turnloc clasp requires you to turn the pull to release the clasp. This frame is dated July 23, 1918, and denotes the patent dates Oct 5, 1915 - May 15, 1917. The frame also bears the Jemco name. Clasp features a beautiful rose on top and floral design on the pull. Frame shows wear typical of age. Outer is leather with a hand tooled western design. Leather of the purse is in good condition. Lining is green velvet and features a pocket on either side. The lining is in decent condition showing some fading/staining and wear typical of age. Could use cleaning inside and out - I prefer to leave cleaning methods to the purchaser. The strap is broken. The leather on the strap is very dry, brittle and flaking. It was like this when I got it and I had planned to remove it and use it as a clutch - it will carry very well as a clutch. The strap hooks are in excellent, strong condition, so you could also replace the strap. The existing strap should easily remove with a strong wire cutter, bolt cutter or very strong hands to pry it. Purse measures 8-1/2 inches square. Will ship in a box in a bag.
