Description: This unexpected find from a barn in Indiana is massively cast (it weighs over 9 pounds) with excellent details in the grand Spanish baroque manner and measures 14 3/4" in diameter x 3" deep. Dating from the early 1900's, it is marked Made in Spain on the back and features a central compartment app 3 1/8" (reveal) x 1 1/4" deep surrounded bu 5 oval compartments with 2" x 1 1/4" (reveal) x 1/4" deep. Truthfully, I am uncertain what exactly this piece served as; the consignor believes it to be a reliquery. In any event, the piece is finely made with dramatic presence and features old polish areas with natural verdigris in the details and some areas with dark tarnish.
