Description: Up for sale is an old Underwood portable typewriter which, based on its serial number of 4B8616, was made in 1926 or 1927. All the mechanical parts work fine, but there is some wear to the chrome on either side of the roller and to the decals. The case has wear and and a few tears and the handle now consists of a piece of tape-wrapped wire. The typed sheet shows that is needs a new ribbon. I did not remove the typewriter from its base, which is the bottom of the case, because it was screwed down so I can't show photos of the bottom or insides (I assume it was screwed down to serve as a cushion for the typewriter since it has no rubber feet like other makers used). Overall it is still in good condition and ready to type.
