Description: Antique African American Folk Art Way Down in Dixie Oil Painting of Five Boys. This painting is an original oil and unsigned. This images has been reproduced by different artists during the early 19th and 20th Century. There was one sold signed as "M.L.R." and another I was able to find was a print by Eugene Decompte. I am not quite sure where this image originated. In any case, it is well framed and preserved. There is some faded writing on the back that I am unable to make out. I am unsure on the age of this piece, I would expect early 20th century from it's overall condition, especially when compared to the other versions I have found online. Painting measures 15.5" by 7.75" as viewed. Good condition. Please see images.
