Description: This is an antique Fon tribal people of Benin hand forged iron sculptural Asen ceremonial staff which comes from the Fon kingdom of Dahomey which is located in the present-day Republic of Benin in Africa. Although called an Asen staff these abstract iron staffs were not used for memorials but served another function. This Fon iron Asen staff is made of a four metal upturned iron arms. This Fon staff measures 18 1/4 inches tall by 4.38 inches wide and weighs 10 ounces. This is in authentic original antique condition showing much wear from age and being tribally used and has a very rusty patina.
