Description: Antique Cast Iron Wesley Mfg. Co. Check Perforating Tool Pat. Date 1897 This is an antique check perforating tool. It is embossed / stamped on the bottom, "Wesley Mfg. Co. / New York US.A. / Pat'd Nov. 18 '90 / Sep. 15 & 20 '91 / June 27, Sep. 26 '93 / Dec. 4 '94 and / Jun. 15, 1897." The perforator seems to work fine, you push down the lever and insert the check, and the lever holds it in place. You then line up what number on the top you want to perforate into the check, press the top down and it perforates the paper with the number or symbol, and all of that works fine.
