Description: Scarce, late 19th century, dated July 1883 and inscribed in ink lithographic print art certificate reading "Pensionnat des Religieuses de St Charles d'Avignon" which upon research appears to have been a part of the Chapelle Saint-Charles d'Avignon. I believe this certificate records the named's becoming of a recognized nun or at least their graduation; "brevet de capacité" from some type of religious school associated with St. Charles d'Avignon. Lithograph is on paper and some of the bottom margin is sh owing coming through on the reverse side at the bottom of the cardboard backing (see images 8 and 9). There is also a small, loose, shard of glass caught inside the picture but stable, and is just above the center, this can be best seen in image 6. Finally, on the right hand side, mostly in the margin is soiling, and there is some other mild evidence of the document having long ago been wetted, the black smudging appears to be ink. Entire piece including the frame measures 19 1/2 x 15 5/8 inches.Inside boarder of the frame measures 15 5/8 x 11 3/4 inches.
