Description: This is an original late 19th Century Ching Period Han Chinese Silver Hat Adornment repurposed into a necklace. These lovely charms were normally sewn into hats for children. This charm comes with four armed chain connector as well as a round coral adornment. This piece was purchased by my father in 1980 while he was in Hong Kong for his semi-annual buying trip for his Malaysian antique shop. This is a well documented antique collecting category - please refer to reference books that outline the richness of this type of Chinese silver artisanship. I particularly enjoy a book by Margaret Duda that can be purchased online. Charm Dimensions: 3/4 of an inch wide by 1 3/4 inch long.
