Description: This beautiful single-bud vase from Crown Ducal of England has an uncommon pattern and a rarely seen shape. It is in excellent condition, especially considering its age (over 100 years old). The graduated colors of the porcelain, from cream to blush, are complimented by the overlaid painted flowers and gold accents. The vase is covered evenly in crazing, which does not detract from the vase's beauty. There is a small, barely noticeable scratch underneath the "trumpet" opening, and some of the gold accents along the toprim have been lost. There is also a rough spot on the gold bottom edge of the base, but it might have been there from the time of manufacture since the gold is not chipped, yet doesn’t appear to have been repaired or touched up. Please look at all the photos - I have tried to clearly show all blemishes and the exact condition of this gem, and under different lighting, so the pictures are an important part of the description. The vase measures 20 cm. (7-7/8 in.) high, 8.1cm. (3-1/4 in.) diameter at the top, and 6.3 cm. (2-1/2 in.) diameter at the base. I was unable to find a matching antique for comparison, however did find a similarly-shaped Crown Ducal chintz bud vase with a busy overall floral pattern camouflaging the all-over crazing that is listed at over double my price.
