Description: Large antique English dovetailed copper roasting pan Of very high quality, this pan has the sought after maker's mark for Benham and Froud on the base. Formed from one sheet of copper with a dovetail joint in each corner. The lift handles are firmly fixed through a rivetted collar. It has a roll top finish and is tin lined. Probably originally used in the kitchens of a large country home or hotel for cooking Venison and large meat joints. In very good used antique condition with associated surface marks and wear. It rocks slightly but will not tip. The tin lining is darker grey in places which happens through use. Approx. dimensions - 58cm L x 44cm W x 13cm D / Length including handle brackets 61cm / Handle drop 7cm /Weight 8.1kg A superior quality pan which would make a stunning and impressive addition to any kitchen copper cookware collection.
