This cold-painted metal pin cushion is in the form of a little boy with big eyes - he appears to be in jammies and a night cap - riding a donkey that is pulling a cart, holding an excelsior-stuffed pin cushion covered in dark blue velvet. Both the paint and the detailing on the cast metal are very fine and detailed. Both the boy and the donkey have so much character. Unmarked, but likely German and is very similar in style to some German Heyde figures. Note - the wheels are actually painted in slightly different colors on the bottom, as if they accumulated dirt or snow. This boy & his donkey are searching for their new home in your antique pin cushion collection. Condition: Very good antique condition; the velvet cushion has a tiny tear right at the corner, and very minor wear to the paint on his bonnet, his elbow and cart handles & wheels. (See photos.)
