This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic, by Fischer & Meig, Pirkenhammer between 1857 and 1875. It has the initials F & M impressed in the porcelain. Both pieces are molded in a star shape. The set is hand painted and gilded with a pattern that is Imari-like. Bright rust red and cobalt flow blue are accents with shiny gilding. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. The interior rim of the cup and exterior of the saucer are decorated.
