Description: ANTIQUE FOLEY POTTERIES COVERED IRONSTONE BLUE / GRAY TRANSFERWARE DISH MADE IN STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND. Wonderful antique covered serving dish by Foley Potteries, Staffordshire, England, Floral & Greek Key pattern, in a blue-gray color. J. F. Wileman owned the Foley Potteries earthenware factory between 1866 and 1892.. (He also owned the china works between 1869 and 1872.) This dish has all the characteristics of antique ironstone: beautiful transferware decor, lovely fluting and scalloping, and the heavy weight that made ironstone the workhorse of the Victorian kitchen.
