Boreas Abducting Oreithyia entwines three Greek Mythological figures in a compact spiral. The powerful Boreas with puffed cheeks, representing the King of the North Wind, is seen struggling with a reclining Zephyr to abduct Oreithyia, daughter of Erechtheus, King of Athens. According to Greek Mythology, Boreas brought Oreithyia to Thrace, where the two reigned as King and Queen of the Winds. The greater than life size marble sculpture originally commissioned to Gaspard Marcy and completed by one of his students can be seen at the Louvre in Paris. This sculpture will be carefully packed, shipped and insured with signature required. Local delivery in the Pacific North West, USA is possible.
