Description: Here is an Antique Galvanized Metal Laboratory Animal Study Cage Made for Small Animals. Could be for birds, rabbits, etc. Could be used for animals again or utilized as a cool/unique form of storage or side table. The top of the cage has an old engraving: SDK 46/36 (see photos) This cage is from the estate of an early San Diego Zoological Society member and retired 1960-70’s employee of the US Dept. of Agriculture Forest Service and state of CA division of beach and parks employee. This cage is comprised of 11 parts. There are 4 leg posts that run the full height of the cage, Each leg post has a wing nut at the top end and a thicker bottom end. The bottom pan sets on the thicker lower half of the legs, 4 cage-wall panels are placed in the lower pan and held in place by the upper gate and wing nuts. A slide out tray is inserted from the front. A spring is mounted inside the cage for a water flask or food dish. The cage will be shipped disassembled.
