Description: Here is an Antique Galvanized Metal Laboratory Animal Study Cage Made for Small Animals. Could be for birds, rabbits, etc. Could be used for animals again or utilized as a cool/unique form of storage or side table. The top of the cage has an old engraving: SDK 46/36 (see photos) This cage is from the estate of an early San Diego Zoological Society member and retired 1960-70’s employee of the US Dept. of Agriculture Forest Service and state of CA division of beach and parks employee. This cage is comprised of 11 parts. There are 4 leg posts that run the full height of the cage, Each leg post has a wing nut at the top end and a thicker bottom end. The bottom pan sets on the thicker lower half of the legs, 4 cage-wall panels are placed in the lower pan and held in place by the upper gate and wing nuts. A slide out tray is inserted from the front. A spring is mounted inside the cage for a water flask or food dish. The cage will be shipped disassembled. You will have to assemble the cage upon arrival. Approx. Dimensions: Height: 17 inches Width: 20 1/4 inches Depth: 15 inches Approx. Interior dimensions: Height: 11 1/2 inches Width: 19 1/2 inches Depth: 14 1/2 inches Condition: This cage is in good age related condition with an original removable drawer pan and some oxidation to the legs, washers, wing-nuts.
