Description: This is an exquisite mourning ring that is ready to be added to a collection! Or to begin one! It features lovely dark brunette hair that is braided. On top of the hair sits gold foil initials (LS). The hair is set under a thick rock crystal locket that is domed. Surrounding the locket is a jet halo, some stones are chipped but this does not take away from the overall appearance of the ring. The shoulders have an infinity design. The back of the ring is inscribed Lucy Swinfen obt. 1st April 1809 Æ 46. There is evidence that the ring was sized down in antiquity. It is currently a size 6 and is set in beautiful 9ct rose gold. This ring was made during the Napoleonic Wars and this style of mourning ring is characteristic of this period. Boxes or other items in photos are for display purposes and are not included.
