Description: This listing is for an antique German bisque doll recently purchased from a local doll auction. She was made by Heinrich Handwerck in the early 1910s. She has a socket style bisque head with blue paperweight glass eyes. Her upper and lower eyelashes are painted and she has matte brown multi-stroke eyebrows. Her lips are red with a darker red outline and she has four upper teeth. There are red accent dots in her nostrils and she has rosy pink cheeks. Her ears are pierced and she comes with a replacement brown nylon wig. She is marked "109-15 DEP. Germany Handwerck 6 " on the back of her neck. She has her original ball jointed body with the patented hinged hips. Her body is not marked and she stands 30" tall. She is dressed in an antique white lawn cotton and lace dress . Under her dress, she has an antique cotton slip dress and drawstring pantaloons---both trimmed with lace. Her socks are white knit and she has white leather shoes with tiny bows and buckles. The pierced earrings with goldtone metal drops are from the 80s. Condition: Her bisque head is in good condition with no cracks or repairs but there is some damage to the eyelids and glue residue and wear around the top edge of the head. There is some wear on the body with cracks in the paint around the neck and joints and especially on the lower legs. She has repaired fingers and there is evidence of repainting. There are lots of old repairs and patches on her dress slip and her pantaloons have a lot of holes and stains. Her shoes are slightly too big. There are some tears and stains in the lace on the dress and age spots and yellowing. Please note: The antique books and doll stand are not included in the listing and are for display purposes only. Be sure to check my listings for more antique and collectible dolls and toys.
